Glimpses of My Memories with Hodita
I’ve tried to dig through my memories and I can’t seem to find the exact moment of my first encounter with her. Maybe it’s because it was life itself that she radiated — it felt as though she had always been there.
I remember my close relationship with her family, especially with Vida, which always made me feel like she was my own relative. Various moments pop into my mind here and there, but in all of them she is always smiling, radiating so much light.
In gatherings with friends, while offering some kind of service, at summer schools — and that magical moment when I learned she would unite her life with a dear friend. What a wonderful moment! A union that could only be described as a gift from beyond this world.
She was a young woman with a delicate frame and a gaze full of strength and sweetness, with voluminous hair that followed her as she walked. There was always a youthful energy that accompanied her in the times I knew her. I say “the times” because I know that each time we saw each other, we discovered new qualities that added to the beauty of who she was.
I don’t know why, but I have a memory from a summer school where someone — maybe even her — was giving a massage to someone… I remember a young man suddenly walked in, and in the moment of panic, we threw a bra at him… I remember her laughter echoing among the other giggles.
I believe she had a special kind of charisma that radiated joy and was contagious to everyone around her. It’s like when you light a scented candle, and that aroma fills the space and spreads a sense of warmth.
I only had the chance to be close to the Hodita from Argentina — the young, single woman and later the newlywed. I’m fully certain that the special spark full of light that emanated from her being — so characteristic of her family — was appreciated in every corner of the world where she left her mark.
I send a warm embrace to you all,
Simone
