When I was little, there were a few older people whose mere memory would bring me peace and joy. Hodita was one of them — an essence of love, beauty, and radiance.

I have many relatives, and Hodita may have been my favorite of all (shh, don’t tell anyone). Her voice, her tenderness… as a child, she could make me forget any sorrow. She used to make the funniest and sweetest voices — no one ever matched her! It was hilarious when she imitated the Persian accent. Honestly, I could dedicate an entire piece just to her sense of humor. She brought so much joy to people’s hearts with her jokes, her expressions, her cleverness.

And of course, I can’t leave out her art. It always filled me with admiration and pride — admiration for her talent, and pride in calling her family.

Such a radiant angel didn’t need much time in this world to shine in all her splendor. And now, she has taken flight toward the infinite, where she will go on painting, smiling, and bringing happiness to souls.
