My dear Hoda, you were a strong, committed, and sensitive woman—one of those people who made everyone around them feel at ease. Getting to know you was a true gift, a constant lesson in sensitivity and empathy, because you always had a kind gesture and a smile that came straight from the heart.

With you, I shared organizing our children’s school party, the plays, the gym classes, and later, those conversations in the park until nightfall, where we could spend an hour saying goodbye only to start chatting again. Always with your smile, your assertiveness, and even your “excessive” eagerness to please, it was so easy to enjoy your company.

It’s hard for me to write about you, Hoda, because of the deep sadness and anger of knowing we won’t be able to share any more moments together. Even so, I will always carry you with me, and we will dance together our rumba of friendship.
