One of the things I always remember about Hoda and Marcos is how they got along, the relationship they had. I remember that the first time I saw them together, it made a big impression on me — I loved it. It was at a Summer School in Llíria, many years ago. I think that was the first time I saw them as a couple in person. Before that, I knew them separately, but I hadn’t seen them after they were married. And I loved seeing how well they treated each other, how they cared for one another, how considerate they were with each other.
They were always attentive to what the other wanted, what the other was thinking, how the other was feeling. And it seemed so, so beautiful to me… something I hadn’t seen much of in other people, in other couples. For me, that was like a lesson in how all couples should be. That, to me, was true love: the way they treated each other, how they cared for each other, the kind of relationship they had.
And well… that’s what I always remember.
Now that I’m married, I realize even more how hard it is sometimes to be that way, to be so thoughtful and careful with the other person, and to set aside your own ego, to let go of everything you want and put the other part of the couple first.
So, it all seems even more valuable to me now. I realize that both of them truly were — and are — incredible and very special. That’s why God brought them together, that’s why they formed such a beautiful couple. A true example for everyone.
And well… marriage is for all the worlds of God, so that unity they began in this world will continue in all the worlds of God. And since they were so special in this world, they will surely continue to be very special in all the other worlds of God.
How beautiful that they were able to build something so special here!
And how wonderful to think that it can continue in the other worlds of God.
